The Following of the Beast was a cult-like following that sprang up in Greenwich near the London Pack's territory in December of 1895.
The preacher was Thaddeus Monday, who was secretly a loner werewolf there to challenge for Alpha of the pack, unknown to the congregation.
Tenants and History[]
It followed the idea that supernatural creatures (particularly werewolves) were inherently superior to humans, and without appeasement in the form of human sacrifice, all of them were at risk of destruction. They did this by leaving young children on the doorstep of the pack, assuming they would be eaten by the werewolves there.
They were eventually convinced to stop leaving children for the pack, though it took Biffy significant arguing of the inferiority of human babies to big game when it came to nourishment. In their stead, he convinced them to leave squash swaddled like a baby, which eventually would be donated to the local workhouse when the clavigers got sick of the vegetable.
